I was having an open air yard sale one Fall and woke up to black skies and torrential rain. Since I'd spent a week pricing and hauling things from my basement I was determined not to cancel. I asked my next door neighbor if we could use her garage and she agreed. We sweated and strained getting everything from my house to her garage in time for the opening. We sold almost everything that day. I just couldn't believe how many people came. My husband had to cancel his golf game and he enthusiastically became a salesman for the day. My neighbor provided hot drinks and home baking and we turned what could have been a disaster into a very rewarding experience in every way.

We go to Arizona on holiday in the winter and have such a good time going to yard and garage sales there. Unfortunately I'm limited in what I can bring back to Canada but I just love the fun of going and meeting new and old friends on the rounds. It's a great pastime and doesn't cost much money.
